It slipped my mind that the Book Mountain by MVRDV is in Spijkenisse, The Netherlands. I studied this piece back in thesis year because I was researching about the future of libraries. Although with nine years in the making, not much was geared toward the innovation and future of the library establishment within public urban or rural territories except for the fact that it is visually relevant and that it promotes literacy. The mountain of books serves as an advertisement or an invitation through its transparency and recognizable form. I hope I will have time to see this when I go there in August. I'll gain a better understanding of its intent when I explore the context in person.
