Milk Chocolate Sprinkles - De Ruijter
I think I made it a "thing" in our office to have sprinkles for breakfast. I thought it was just a Dutch thing but according to my colleague, this was also done in Australia. I never encountered it when I was there last year, but they call it "Fairy Bread" and just use the standard colorful sprinkles. My favorite is the milk chocolate one which I have with toast and some butter.
Archtober - AIANY
This October was New York City's fifth Design Month, which is a series of programs, lectures, exhibitions and events. It ran its course over the whole month and I was able to attend some of the events. I met new people and some designers that I look up to. My office also attended the MAS Summit, which was a two-day discussion of urban innovation and civic progress with leading planners, designers and leaders in New York City.
The Nolita - Rosefield Watches
Before the Amsterdam-New York based watches were almost completely sold out, I was able to nab one this month on a whim. I didn't expect them to sell out so fast, but I am happy about their instant success. It's minimal and gray which has been my go-to theme for a while now.
Metropolis Magazine (Physical)
A lot of people don't know about my fascination for magazines in general and I think I'm one of the few people in the office who really appreciates all our physical magazine subscriptions. I have been constantly picking up Metropolis magazine in the past few months. I relate to their content a lot and like the stories they choose to highlight. Besides the editorial content, I also admire the layout, typography, overall look and standards they developed. My goal is to write an article for them one day. If you are interested, you can subscribe from their website.
October is the season of pumpkins and Halloween. I have been trying to incorporate pumpkin spice in everything from drinks to pastries and even dinners. Although you can have it at any time of the year, it is just more exciting to have it during the month when everyone else appreciates it.
Happy Halloween everyone!
